The new Charlotte Tilbury cleanser promises to clean the skin without stripping it of its natural oils to give you a spa-like glow
The Charlotte Tilbury skincare collection just keeps growing with the recent launch of the Magic Hydration Revival Cleanser – a so-called 3-in-1 cleanser that promises to “hydrate, revive, and prime your skin for a refreshed, spa-like glow.”
It’s not the first cleansing product from the brand, but it is the first foam cleanser to launch as part of the wider Magic skincare line. It’s also relatively affordable, coming in at £12 for 30ml.

What is the Charlotte Tilbury cleanser? The new Charlotte Tilbury Cleanser is officially called the Magic Hydration Revival Cleanser. It’s called a 3-in-1 cleanser because as you massage it into the skin, it transforms from a cream to a foam to a milk. This makes it a great choice for different skin types and needs, particularly dry or dehydrated skin.
Charlotte Tilbury Revival Cleanser price: £12 (30ml); £25 (120ml)
How to use the Charlotte Tilbury Revival Cleanser: Morning, and night, squeeze the cleanser into your palm and turn it from a cream to a foam using warm water. Gently rub hands together and apply evenly across the face, massaging into skin for at least 60 seconds. The formula will turn into a light milk which can then be rinsed off.
Key ingredients: This cleanser contains hyaluronic acid, a peptide complex, and what the brand calls biomimetic Barrier Shield Technology.
Who is the Charlotte Tilbury cleanser best for? The cleanser is good for oily skin, because it’s not too thick, but it’s also good for hydrating dry and dehydrated skin, and is gentle enough for sensitive skin or irritated skin caused by a damaged skin barrier.
Where to buy: Charlotte Tilbury
Looking just at the ingredients, the Charlotte Tilbury Revival Cleanser certainly looks effective.
Known for its ability to retain moisture, hyaluronic acid hydrates the skin, leaving it plump, and youthful. It works by attracting and holding onto water molecules which helps to reduce dryness and improve skin texture. This is a great ingredient for all skin types but is particularly good for mature skin that tends to crease and become dry.
Peptides, like those in the Peptide Complex, are amino acid chains that play a crucial role in boosting skin health. In this cleanser, they work to boost collagen, which helps increase skin elasticity while reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Elsewhere, the Biomimetic Barrier Shield Technology has been designed to mimic the natural lipid barrier of the skin. When used daily, this helps to replenish and strengthen the skin barrier by locking in moisture and preventing water loss.
In clinical tests (albeit carried out by the brand), participants said this cleanser left their skin feeling twice as hydrated, and this hydration lasted up to 24 hours. They also claimed it made their pores look smaller, in just two weeks, and 97% clearer and smoother within seven days.
However, these are only the results from 33 people so the sample size is small.
I’ve bought the cleanser and will be putting it to the test for my Charlotte Tilbury cleanser review ASAP.
