The Olaplex Volumizing Blow Dry mist claims to speed up the time it takes to dry your hair while protecting it from heat and humidity
Olaplex has been on a bit of a roll in recent months with new launches – from its dry shampoo to its LashBond Building Serum – and its latest release sees it launch an entirely new product.
Called the Olaplex Volumizing Blow Dry Mist, the spray promises to tackle a number of hair woes.
Below we explain what it is, how it works, and when and where you can get your hands on it.
Firstly, the new Olaplex mist is designed to protect your hair from heat damage by coating the hair in a thin barrier.
This barrier not only offers protection against stylers and hair dryers that reach as high as 230°C (450°F), but it also helps protect your style from becoming frizzy or unmanageable in humid weather.
Secondly, it contains Olaplex’s patented bond-building technology, Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate.
We explain more about the science of its bond-building formula in our K18 vs Olaplex guide but, in summary, it helps temporarily mend the bonds between strands of hair to reduce breakage and improve hair strength.
This is accompanied by peptides in the Volumizing Blow Dry Mist formula, as well as jackfruit extract which is said to help boost circulation to the scalp to stimulate growth.
And thirdly, Olaplex claims the mist makes blow drying faster. We’re not sure how it does this but the brand says that this has been “clinically proven.”
All of this combines to apparently offer lasting body and bounce and “touchably soft, shiny hair.”
Notably, it’s one of the few Olaplex products that isn’t numbered. That is, it doesn’t fit into its multi-stage routine.
