To show appreciation for our NHS workers risking their lives every day to save others from the COVID-19 coronavirus, a number of retailers are offering NHS discounts on food, drinks, clothes, shoes and beauty products.
These include free hot drinks at Greggs, free parking, free bike rentals, exclusive shopping hours in supermarkets and more. MoneySavingExpert has a great guide detailing these, but below we’ve outlined additional discounts and offers available specifically on beauty, skincare and fashion items.

For many NHS workers – in fact, for many people generally – it’s unlikely they’ve considered wearing makeup or looking after their skin in recent weeks and it’s definitely not a priority, but knowing, first-hand, the positive power such products can have on a person’s mental health we wanted to at least flag these discounts up. We know that these are far from essential items but if they provide some light relief, who are we to take that away from these workers.
We usually receive a small commission on purchases you make through this website but we have disabled affiliate links on this page. This list is aimed at helping – and showing appreciation to – NHS workers; not to make any form of profit.
Some of the NHS discounts listed below are new, in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak. Others have existed for some time and require a free membership to the Health Services Discounts (HSD) scheme. There isn’t a fee or any catch attached to this scheme, it’s more to make finding and getting discounts easier, without having to jump through hoops to prove where you work at each retailer.
In addition to donating £100 giftcards to NHS critical care workers at the start of the month, Kurt Geiger is giving NHS employees a 50% discount on Kurt Geiger shoes and bags, free delivery and an extended 100-day return policy for items bought online via HSD. What’s more, once Kurt Geiger re-opens its stores, HS employees will continue to get a 50% discount for a full year.
Lovehoney specialises in adult toys and lingerie and the site offers various discounts for key workers including the NHS, but also teachers, charity workers, the police and people in the Armed Forces. The size of the discount varies, and each discount needs to be applied for via the relevant memberships sites i.e. Health Discounts for NHS, or Bluelight Card holders.
You can see the full range of Lovehoney discounts on the site’s Offers page.
Fashion site In The Style is also offering 50% off to all NHS workers, but you don’t need to sign up to a third-party site to benefit. Instead, you simply need to input a valid NHS email here to receive the exclusive code. The code only applies to full-price items, so isn’t valid on sale or charity items, nor is it valid on Gemma Collins’ range of products which In the Style told us is because it’s a new range.
This NHS discount is an ongoing discount and the amount you save depends on what you’re buying. Claire’s own range comes with the biggest discount of 51%. Discounts for other brands are:

NHS workers can save 20% on Charlotte Tilbury’s entire makeup, skincare and tools range, with the exception of bundles and other offers. We’re very big fans of Charlotte Tilbury and her Magic Cream is the best moisturiser we’ve ever used. Not just because it helps hydrate our skin, leaving it glowing, but because it acts as a primer and provides a protective barrier against the elements.
Launched in 1996, Urban Decay’s mission is to allow “people all over the world regardless of skin type, age or gender to express themselves through the creativity of makeup.” We’re particular fans of it All Nighter Setting Spray and its Naked eyeshadow palettes and as a thank you to NHS workers, it’s offering 20% off its makeup range.
LookFantastic is offering 20% off luxury and premium makeup, skincare and haircare ranges to NHS workers. The discount only applies to the products listed on the URL below – it doesn’t apply to the whole of LookFantastic’s range – and isn’t valid on sale items, giftcards or as part of any other promotion.

It’s not cheap, but it’s not completely out of reach either which makes a 15% discount for NHS workers not too shabby! This NHS discount applies to full price items only and is not valid in conjunction with any other offers.

Save on everything from everyday items, like toothpaste, vitamins, and haircare to makeup, perfume and more with Superdrug’s 10% discount for NHS staff. You do need to have a registered Superdrug Health & Beautycard in addition to being an NHS employee.
Be aware that while this discount is showing as live, until June, it also says it’s only valid in-store so we’re checking with Superdrug to find out if it’s possible to use online. Some Superdrug stores have remained open, due to their pharmacy services but it depends on the region and on staffing levels.
