Beauty boxes are a fantastic way to discover new brands and products.
Delivered monthly from the likes of Glossybox, BirchBox and FabFitFun, to name a few, you pay a monthly subscription to get a collection of cosmetics and beauty products through the post. The boxes vary in price but start at around £15 a month, or you can buy six-month or annual subscriptions which effectively lower the monthly price (but means you have to pay a larger sum upfront).
Although this may seem like a lot, the savings you make on buying the items individually are substantial. Granted, they may not be items you would have bought anyway but we can say that we’ve more than got our money’s worth from beauty boxes and have discovered some amazing products which we have subsequently bought, and paid full price for.
One of our favourites is the Lookfantastic beauty box, which makes us super excited to hear the news that it’s launched a Valentine’s Day special.
The Lookfantastic Valentine’s Collection costs £55 and contains six full-size, luxury products from Benefit, Pixi and Dr. Brandt. These products are worth £253 if bought separately. If you’re already a Lookfantastic beauty box subscriber, you can get the box for £50. Or if this has inspired you to sign up, enter the code VDAYBB5 to get a fiver off this box when you buy a Lookfantastic beauty box subscription.
This Valentine’s Collection is an optional extra and is in addition to the February Lookfantastic beauty box available with a standard subscription.

Ecooking isn’t a brand we’d heard of before but reading up on it, this eye cream promises to get rid of dark circles, fine lines and puffiness thanks to its coconut oil, Vitamin A and Glycerin, which helps support collagen production.

This pre-shampoo treatment helps to remove metals and minerals that cause dullness. Unlike many hair masks and similar treatments, which can take 10-15 minutes to work, this treatment acts more like a conditioner, penetrating the hair in just three minutes. It’s suitable for all hair types.

This highlighter, with Benefit’s trademark mini-brush, is small enough to take to work or on a night out offering a champagne shade with a slight shimmer that can be used to highlight key areas – tip of the nose, Cupid’s bow, cheekbones – or used sparingly all over the face, shoulders and neck to make you look radiant. Benefit is one of our favourite makeup brands and we can’t rate this highlighter highly enough.

Formulated with professional-grade crystals, as opposed to the controversial microbeads found in some other exfoliating products, this exfoliant penetrates your skin to a deep level to clear your pores of dirt, remove dead skin cells and help fight the signs of ageing. This isn’t a daily treatment, as it really does scrub the skin clean, but it’s safe to use weekly or as and when your skin is looking dull and is in need of revitalising.
