UPDATE: Lashify just released a new colour version of its Extreme Extra lashes, and upgraded the lash collection to feature what’s known as GripTex technology.

GripTex technology is unique to Lashift and it consists of small grooves along the lash line which act in a similar way to velcro to grip and intertwine with your natural lashes.

This not only makes them easier to apply, but Lashify promises that it makes the lashes last longer.

The Extreme Extra lashes are already available in Black and will soon be available in Truffle colour.

We’ve ordered the new GripTex lashes and we’ll update this page once we’ve had the chance to try them out.

You can buy the Extreme lashes using the button below or keep reading to find out more about the entire Lashify lashes collection.

Original Lashify lashes guide continues below

There’s been a rise in recent months of DIY lash extension kits doing the rounds on social media.

Brands like Tatti Lash, Ardell and many more have released sets that contain everything you need to create a lash extension look at home.

Yet the original, and some will say the best, is the Control Starter Kit from US brand Lashify.

Lashify, which sells in the UK as well as other regions, describes itself as the inventor of the DIY lash extension and it’s been selling its Starter Kit and lashes for years.

It regularly launches new lash styles, has a range of prices and colours, and even offers a yearly membership that helps you save money on refills.

You can read what we think of the Lashify system in our Lashify UK review but if you’re instead looking to understand more about the range, and how it works, we explain all below.

Lashify Lashes Explained

When you first get started with Lashify lashes you get the Lashify Control Kit. It isn’t mandatory to buy the kit, but if you don’t buy it you’ll end up paying more for the tools, bond and seal separately which can cost you more.

Not a huge amount more, granted.

According to the Lashify site, all of the parts of the standard Control Kit individually work out at $184 which converts to £144. This means the kit saves you £19. We explain more about how to get around these costs in our Lashify Dupe section below.

There is also a more expensive LED Control Kit that is fully customisable. It gets its name from the fact the Storage Box has LED lights around the built-in mirror. The price of the LED Control Kit varies depending on which lashes you choose but it starts at around £145.

Lashify Control Kit

Lashify Control Kitmamabella

The Lashify Control Kit contains two Gossamer lash refills, the Fuse Control Wand, dual-sided bond and the Glass sealer for £125

Inside the Standard Lashify Lashes kit is:

  • Fuse Control Wand: A curved applicator designed to mirror the arc of your lash line and secure the lashes in place.
  • 2 lash sets: 12mm, and 14mm Gossamer lashes from the Core range. Each lash stack contains 12 lashes.
  • Whisper Light Dual-Sided Bond: One end of the bonding stick contains a black bond, and the other has a clear bond. This is what “sticks” the false Lashify lashes to your own.
  • Water Poof seal: This seals your Lashify lashes in place and helps make them last longer by creating a protective seal over the bond.
  • Wandom Pair: Rubber strips that can be attached to the Control Wand to soften the metal
  • Storage Box

You also get a free sample of the lash cleanser and lash remover.

Lashift LED Control Kit

Lashify LED Control Kit contentsLashify

Inside the Lashify LED Control Kit is:

  • Fuse Control Wand
  • 4 lash sets of your choice from any of the Lashify lashes range
  • Whisper Light Dual-Sided Bond
  • Water Poof seal
  • Wandom Pair
  • Storage Box

It is possible to clean and reuse the Gossamer lashes but in our experience, they don’t work as well afterwards. As a result, a Control Kit should last you around three applications before you need to buy Lashify lash refills, which means a kit should last about three weeks if you’re wearing the lashes regularly.

Of course, the Wand, Bond and Seal will last much longer.

Lashify Gossamer lash refills where to buy price UKLashify/mamabella

Lashify sells Gossamer lashes individually. These are the three designs from the Core collection or you can choose refills that give more volume or oomph

The Gossamer lashes are patented, hand-made lash strips made from Korean PBT silk. Lashify lashes are vegan and cruelty-free. Each lash strip, which measures about 1cm wide, is curved in a way that’s been designed to fit on the underside of your upper lashes.

There are then various styles within the Lashify lashes range (and it all gets a bit confusing!) Below we’ve tried to make it easier to understand.

  • Core Collection: This is the original collection of lightweight, natural-looking lashes.
  • Editorial Core Colours Collection: A colourful collection of lashes in the Amplify and Curl styles from the Core range.
  • Plus+ Collection: An even lighter, natural-looking version of the Core Collection.
  • Plushy Collection: A step up from the Core Collection. They’re thin and natural looking but add volume to your natural lashes.
  • Extreme Collection: Long, voluminous lashes, they’re also known as the Volume Collection and look closest to the Russian lashes you can get in a salon.
  • Fluffy Collection: These lashes are fluttery and curly. They bring volume with curl and are the newest in the Lashify lashes range.
  • Star Collection: This collection features longer lashes among shorter lashes to add natural-looking “spikes” across the lash line.
  • Tulip Collection: The Tulip lashes are similar to the Star lashes but have a more subtle shape, like a tulip.
  • Stax Collection: These lashes are thinner and narrower and are designed to be stackable. Either with themselves or other Lashify lashes.
  • Gemini Collection: These are described as Level 2 lashes and are thicker so need to be positioned with a bit more care and attention to avoid them looking uneven.
  • I-Line Collection: These create cat-eye lash looks thanks to their angled design.

Below we explain the different colour and size options within each of the ranges.

Long, voluminous lashes, they’re also known as the Volume Collection and look closest to the Russian lashes you can get in a salon. The Extreme Ice lashes are slightly less thick.

This technology adds what Lashify calls a “nano-scale ridged filament base.” This means the lashes have tiny grooves along the lash line that have been designed to weave with your own lashes for a stronger grip.

Lashify claims that this not only makes application easier, but it increases how long the lashes will last.

How to put on Lashify lashes

To apply the Lashify lashes:

  1. Remove any makeup or residue with a water-based makeup remover. Do not use an oil-based remover.
  2. Remove the Lashify lashes from their packaging.
  3. Apply a coat of black Whisper Light onto your natural lashes.
  4. Wait for 30 seconds to a minute.
  5. Repeat, but this time concentrate more on the base of the natural lashes.
  6. Dot the clear Whisper Light just above the waterline on your eye.
  7. Using the Fuse Control Wand, place each Gossamer below your lashes and lift up. This should cause the lashes to stick to the underside of your bonded lashes.
  8. Once you’ve positioned all the Lashify lashes where you want them, use the Fuse Control Wand again to pinch the fake lashes with your natural lashes.
  9. Finish off with a sweep or two of the Water Poof sealer.

If some of the lashes don’t stick properly, you can apply more of the clear Whisper Light. It’s also really easy to remove the Gossamer lashes and reapply until you’re happy with them.

mamabella tips: Don’t be afraid to “stack” lashes, particularly at the outer corners to give the overall look more oomph. There are 12 lashes in each size so you have enough to experiment with. We also found that resting the wand at the lashline and wiggling it a bit just above the root gave decent coverage.

Lashify Lash Dupes

While Lashify calls itself the inventor of the DIY lash extension trend, and it offers the widest range of colours, styles and lengths we’ve come across, there’s no denying that it’s a big investment.

Especially if you’ve not used DIY lash kits before and don’t know how you’ll get on with them.

Thankfully, due to the popularity of kits like Lashify Lashes’, several brands have launched cheaper alternatives.

The downside of these Lashify dupes is that they don’t offer the same variety and quality as the original. The plus side is they’re much, much cheaper and are a good way to practice before investing in the O.G.

What’s more, you can technically use any bond and seal with the Lashify lashes – even if the brand recommends you use its own product – so you could get all the accessories in a cheaper kit and then buy the lashes individually.

Invisi-Lash Mon Cherie Kit from Tatti Lash Lashify dupeTatti Lash

The Invisi-Lash Kit from Tatti Lash contains a dual-end stick with the Invisi-Lash Bond on one end (available in Black and Clear), and the Invisi-Lash Seal on the other; a set of Cluster lashes; a metal applicator; and a spoolie.

Each pack of Individual Clusters can create between 4-8 sets, depending on the number of clusters applied, and these clusters are reusable if properly cleaned and looked after.

You can choose from:

  • Au Natural – This style is the most natural. These lashes subtly enhance the eyes.
  • Tres Chic – Tres Chic clusters provide a wispy, natural appearance that can be stacked to add more drama.
  • Mon Cherie – The closest style to in-salon Russian lash extensions, Mon Cherie offers volume and curls.
  • Haute Couture – This style is designed for a hybrid, volume lash look.
  • À La Mode – As the most dramatic and longest style, À La Mode is intended for dramatic, glam looks adding significant length and fullness to the lashes.
  • Mocha – Mocha features Mon Cherie clusters in a mix of brown and black fibres.
  • Cappuccino – This style is the brown version of the Tres Chic clusters into brown fibres.
